KPV
A tripeptide fragment of alpha-MSH, KPV is a minimal-sequence tool compound widely studied in inflammatory-signaling research. Each Vitalyx Bio vial contains 10 mg of KPV as a lyophilized powder, supplied strictly for in-vitro and laboratory research.
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) corresponds to the C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Despite lacking the receptor-binding motif required for melanocortin-receptor engagement, KPV retains much of alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory signaling capacity without its pigmentary effects — a distinction that has made it a frequently cited minimal-sequence tool for NF-κB pathway research.
Mechanism of Action
- NF-κB Inhibition: KPV suppresses nuclear translocation of NF-κB, a master regulator of inflammatory gene transcription.
- Cytokine Downregulation: Studies indicate KPV reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion, including TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6.
- Receptor-Independent Activity: KPV lacks the sequence motif required to bind known melanocortin receptors, yet retains much of alpha-MSH’s anti-inflammatory signaling — a unique feature distinguishing it from its parent hormone.

Storage & Reconstitution
Keep the sealed, lyophilized vial cool, dry, and out of light, where it remains stable long-term before reconstitution. Reconstitute using sterile bacteriostatic water, directing the stream gently down the inside wall of the vial rather than onto the powder, and swirl — do not shake — until fully dissolved. Once reconstituted, store refrigerated at 2–8 °C, avoid freeze–thaw cycles, and follow your laboratory’s handling protocols.
